Step 1: Cut two 48" (122 cm) pieces of cord. For easier stringing, apply glue and twist each end to a point; allow to dry. Work with both cords held together.
Step 2: String seven pony beads (red and white) and center them on the cords.
Step 3: Loop cords back through beads and pull tight, but keep beads in a straight line.
Step 4: String seven more red and white beads onto one side, and thread the opposite cords through them; pull tight.
Step 5: As in step 4, repeat with red and white beads for a total of four rows. String on rows of red, white and blue beads for three rows.
Step 6: String on lanyard hook, and loop cords back through the last blue bead. On the opposite corner, loop cords through last red bead.
Step 7: Tie off ends with overhand knots.
Step 8: Apply glue to knots to secure, and trim off excess cord.
